Today Janet Xone launched the latest redesign of our website, version 5.0.
As many visitors are aware, Janet Xone has been active on the internet since it was created in 1998 in bringing a community of Janet Jackson fans together. Along with the new redesign of the website, we have added a new Facebook fan page and Twitter page.
Also, as you may have noticed last week, the comments feature on the main news page has changed to a different service and now utilizes Blogger for this feature. The previous company that provided the comments feature went out of business, and unfortunately all of the previously written comments are gone forever. However, we hope that commenting through Blogger will provide a more stable platform, especially because users will now be required to login with a username before posting, which hopefully will lead to a more friendly environment. Also on the news page, posts will now have their own individual permalink URLs, which will make it easier to share news with friends. In addition, we will soon begin a new "labels" feature in the news, which will categorize and archive news posts by topic.
If you notice any errors with this redesign, please let either of us know so that we can fix it right away. We can be contacted by clicking the white envelope located in the top right-hand corner of every page. Please let us know your thoughts.
As always, we appreciate being a part of such a great community of people. Have a happy new year!
The following list represents Janet's positions on all of the Billboard charts for the week ending January 2, 2010.
As was previously reported, "Make Me" jumps to the No. 1 spot on the Hot Dance Club Play chart, upping her career total to 19 No. 1 dance songs. Billboard.com also explains in an article today that now a total of 31 of the 34 songs that appear on Janet's new greatest hits album Number Ones have reached the top spot on either the Billboard Hot 100, R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, Dance/Club Play Songs or Adult Contemporary charts.
Number Ones sold 9,489 copies in its fifth week of sales, bringing its total to 82,638 copies sold in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Number Ones: The Billboard 200: 180 to 187 Top Current Albums: 137 to 141 Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums: 25 to 26*

"Make Me" will rise two positions and hit the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart for the week ending January 2, 2010, according to a sneak peak of next week's charts that were released in advance on Billboard.com.
The dance chart -- unlike the other charts -- gets compiled one week in advance and therefore its positions are often known a few days before all of Billboard's charts are officially released every Thursday.
"Make Me" becomes the 19th No. 1 song of Janet's career on the dance chart.
The 1987 song "Diamonds," which features Janet on lead vocals, did reach No. 1 on the dance chart, however Billboard does not count it as one of hers because at the time their dance charts only gave Herb Albert credit for that song. Therefore, it is not counted in Janet's tally of No. 1 dance songs. (Strangely enough, Billboard did, however, give Janet credit for "Diamonds" on the rest of their charts.)
The remaining charts will be released on Thursday morning.
